Bastiaan is known for his intuitive and spontaneous abstract paintings. Over the years he developed his own specific style, characterized by blurring, scraping and washing paint to expose underlaying layers. 

Each work represents the next step in his personal journey and allows the viewer space for their own interpretation and imagination. 

The weathered surface only partly reveals what's underneath and draws the viewer to explore the depth and creates a next encounter.
